WASHER PROBLEMS
LOUD/CONSISTENT NOISES
A loud washer is the most common reason we get calls to check out this appliance. We can evaluate and find the location of the noise and find out if we can repair it or have to replace the damaged parts. The reason for the noise is often a broken pump motor or sometimes a worn belt. Damaged bearings are also frequent culprits.
WON’T TURN ON/AGITATE
Check to make sure that your washer is plugged in if it won’t turn on. Check the circuit breaker too. Broken door latches, a burned out thermal fuse, or a damaged timer are the usual reasons that a washer will not start. If it will not agitate, the list of possible causes includes a damaged transmission, broken drive belt, broken coupler, or bad agitator cogs.
WON’T SPIN
A washer that does not spin has is a problem with the motor coupling, wax motor, or door latch. We can fix these problems on the spot and have your washing machine spinning again with a short, same-day service visit.
OVERFLOWS
When your washer overflows, it has a damaged water level pressure switch, air dome tube, or water inlet valve. Call us to fix the problem on the same day.
NO HOT/COLD WATER
A broken inlet hose or temperature control switch is usually the reason why your washing machine will not produce cold or hot water.
DRYER PROBLEMS
LOUD/CONSTANT NOISES
The most common reason we check out dryers is that of loud noises. These noises are usually caused by bad seals, worn belts, or broken bearings. Call us to fix the noise before it leads a machine that is very quiet and does not work at all.
NO HEAT/WON’T DRY
When your dryer doesn’t produce enough heat, the problem is commonly a broken cycling thermostat, high limit thermostat, or heating element. The same parts can result in a dryer being too hot. Our repairman will inspect the appliance to find the problem and fix it.
WON’T TURN ON/TUMBLE
The first thing to do when a dryer does not turn is to make sure the circuit breaker is on and the appliance is plugged in. The second thing to do is to call us for repairs. The damaged parts that keep the dryer from starting are high limit thermostats, cycling thermostats, and heating elements.
WON’T TURN OFF
On the other hand, when a dryer will not start it has a broken timer or door switch. Call us for a quick, same-day fix.
TIMER WON’T ADVANCE
The dryer timer has to advance so that the cycle is complete. When the timer doesn’t do this, there is usually a problem with the timer motor or cycling thermostat.
